The Swamp Room

poetry

Come find us, weary traveller

In a place lit with patient reptilian stares

Where confederate boys lick their wounds in dark corners

And Creole sirens lure the unwary to a marshy grave

Take your seat amongst bough carved from Daphne’s marble flesh,

To stir, Nevermore.
